Liberty Middle School Counseling
Welcome! My name is Mrs. Geahlen and I am the Liberty Center Middle School counselor. As a school counselor, I provide classroom guidance lessons, small group sessions, and individual short-term counseling sessions focusing on the career, social/emotional, and academic success of LCMS students. The school counselor program is aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model.
Mission Statement: The mission of the LCMS school counseling program is to provide equitable, data-driven program based on the needs and interests of all students. The school counselor will work to foster an environment of acceptance, inclusion, and perseverance through school wide activities, classroom guidance, small group, and individual counseling. The school counselor will work with stakeholders within the school, such as teachers, administrators, parents, and community members to ensure students are being provided with skills that will lead to academic, career, and social/emotional success in school and once they leave LCMS.
Vision Statement: The vision of LCMS's school counseling program is that all students are able to reach academic, career, and social/emotional success. Through the program, students will gain skills to be responsive citizens both in and out of LCMS and will gain the skills necessary to be lifelong, independent learners.

It is a research based program that aims to help girls succeed in relationships, academics, careers, and life.
Check out The Girls' Index, which surveyed approximately 10,500 girls across all socioeconomic statuses to obtain a better look at the struggles girls face.
